Safe Space

Therapy That Fits Into Your Life

Finding time for therapy can be hard. Between work, school, parenting, appointments, and everything else competing for your time, adding a drive to and from a therapist’s office may feel like one more thing you have to fit into an already full schedule. Online therapy gives you another option.

At ICUC Therapy, we provide online therapy for clients throughout Texas, allowing you to meet with your therapist from a private space that feels comfortable and works with your schedule. Whether you’re looking for individual, couples, or family therapy, meaningful therapeutic work can still happen online.

Therapy Doesn’t Have to Add More Stress to Your Schedule

Get support from a space that works for you, wherever you are in Texas.

Is Online Therapy Right for Me?

Online therapy may be a good fit if you:

  • Have a busy work or school schedule

  • Are balancing parenting or family responsibilities

  • Want to avoid the extra time of commuting

  • Live farther away from the therapist you want to work with

  • Feel more comfortable talking from your own space

  • Need greater flexibility in fitting therapy into your week

Sometimes being in your own environment can even make it easier to settle in, grab your favorite blanket or cup of coffee, and have an honest conversation. The important part isn’t whether we’re sitting in the same room. It’s creating a space where you feel safe enough to show up, talk honestly, and do the work together.

How Does Online Therapy Work?

Online sessions at ICUC Therapy are provided through TherapyAppointment, our secure, HIPAA-aligned client portal. When it’s time for your appointment, you’ll log into your client portal and join your telehealth session from there. From that point, therapy looks a lot like it would in the office. We talk, explore what’s happening, notice patterns, and work toward your goals.

Depending on what brings you to therapy, sessions may include work around anxiety and stress, trauma, life transitions, relationships, parenting, communication, identity, grief, or other challenges you’re navigating. Online therapy is available for individuals, couples, and families located throughout Texas.

Creating a Good Space for Online Therapy

You don’t need a perfect home office or elaborate setup. You do need a space where you can feel comfortable enough to talk openly. A few things can make online sessions easier:

Find some privacy.
Choose a place where you’re unlikely to be interrupted or overheard. Therapy works best when you don’t have to filter what you say because you’re worried about someone listening.

Use headphones when possible.
They can provide additional privacy and make it easier to stay focused on the conversation.

Get comfortable.
Bring water, a blanket, tissues, a notebook, or anything else that helps you feel settled.

Give yourself a few minutes.
When possible, leave yourself a little space before and after your appointment instead of jumping directly from one responsibility into another.

Check your connection.
A reliable internet connection and a charged device can help minimize interruptions.

Your environment doesn’t have to be perfect.

It just needs to give you enough privacy and comfort to be present.

Make Space for What Matters

A private, comfortable space and a little time set aside for yourself can be enough to begin.

You May Be Wondering...

Is online therapy as meaningful as meeting in person?

Online therapy can still provide space for connection, reflection, skill-building, and meaningful therapeutic work. For some clients, the convenience of online sessions can also make it easier to attend therapy consistently.

Can couples and families do therapy online?

Yes. We offer online individual, couples, and family therapy. Your therapist can help you think through the best setup for your sessions, particularly when more than one person will be joining.

Is online therapy private?

We use TherapyAppointment for our online sessions, which provides secure, HIPAA-aligned telehealth and client portal services. Your environment matters too. We encourage you to choose a private location and use headphones when possible so you can speak freely during your session.

What if I have technical problems?

Technology doesn't always cooperate. If you're having trouble accessing your session or something happens during your appointment, contact your therapist so we can help determine the next step.

Do I have to live near your office?

No. Online therapy allows us to work with clients located throughout Texas. You must be physically located in Texas at the time of your therapy session.
